Templatic was launched on December 10th 2009, but before that it was called PremiumThemes. It was started on March 2008, selling 25 premium WordPress themes.
The team behind Templatic is a group of young web designers who are passionate about WordPress, led by Bhavesh R . Their goal is to provide the highest quality WordPress themes and plugins.
I. Functionality
Every theme has a control panel from where you can easily set up your ad placement or any other kind of website monetization methods. Add the fact that there are themes for every niche and the staff tries to come up with 2 new themes every month and you will see that Templatic might be a good place where you can buy your theme from.
Templatic themes are also well optimized for search engines. This means you get better chances to rank well so it’s good news for anyone willing to create a brand.
We should mention that unfortunately not all the functions work properly. Also, the code is not that clean and easy to follow.
II. Graphics
Although you might say Templatic themes are not that eye-catching like other providers’ themes, you should know that it aims to sell more professional and classic looking themes. So yes, they might seem plain, but this works on both young and old generations.
III. Support
Besides the fact that every theme comes with a documentation, there is also a forum and a helpdesk where you can ask questions. However, some people say you don’t get an answer that quick and you have to wait a bit for someone to help you.
Also, seems like they are not that good at offering technical help and advice.
IV. Pricing
At this moment (June 2012), themes usually cost from $65 to $99 for a standard license (you can use the theme on a single domain). A developer license for a theme generally costs from $99 to $179 (you will get to use the theme on multiple domains, the PSD and free theme update for one year).
In order to join The Club, you have to pay $299 and you will get full access to Templatic themes and their PSDs. Also, after paying that sum, you can renew it by paying $15 monthly.
V. Conclusion
In conclusion, Templatic is a good theme provider but unfortunately it is not great and doesn’t exceed any expectation.
